Keeping You Out of the Weeds on the 2012 Ballot Proposals

Published on October 10, 2012, by in Uncategorized.

Besides electing the next President of the United States, U.S. Senator, and local State Representatives in November, voters in Michigan will be asked to vote on six, yes 6!, ballot proposals five of which that would amend the state constitution.

My next series of posts will present each of them in a way that keeps you out of the weeds but informed enough to confidently support or oppose these amendments.

Proposal 1: Referendum on the Emergency Manager Law
Vote Yes

Proposal 2: The ‘Collective Bargaining’ Amendment
Vote No

Proposal 3: ’25 x 25′ (Arbitrary) Renewable Energy Standard
Vote No

Proposal 4: The Forced Unionization of Home-Based Caregivers
Vote No

Proposal 5: The 2/3 Majority Tax Limitation
Vote Yes

Proposal 6: The International Bridge/Tunnel Voting Requirement
Vote Yes
